Halogen produces a bright, white light, has a longer life, and provides more light (lumens) per watt than regular incandescent bulbs. It maintains maximum efficiency throughout the life of the bulb, and is available in both line- (120 volts) and low-voltage (12 volts). Low-voltage types require a transformer to step down the voltage. Halogens remain the light of choice where high light quality or precise light focusing is required.
