THE SCREW PITCH
The term "screw pitch" is generally used to identify the number of threads.

More specifically, the "pitch" for a metric machine screw (PITCH) corresponds to the relative distance covered during one complete turn of the screw. For example, a metric machine screw with a pitch of 1.25 will advance 1.25 mm during one complete turn.
On the other hand, the "pitch" for an imperial machine screw (TPI) corresponds to the number of threads within a distance of 1 inch.
