The NEW diecast "Open Channel" housing is a major development by Zipbolt which allows the housing to be placed over the shaft, easily engaging the thread and positioning the housing at the right height even if the hole was bored too deep. A reduced housing size also permits the housing to travel within the accommodating (25 mm) hole, tightening the joint while the two wood members are already connected. In conjunction with dowels and liquid adhesives, the KD (Knock Down )/ST (Stairs) ZIPBOLT allows legs and rails or furniture components to be assembled at once, rather than assembled in parts over several days whilst the adhesive bonds, greatly increasing production efficiency.

A variation of bore size of 12.5 mm - 13 mm for Insert Screw (F) may be required for hardwoods or when drilling into end grain. Use waxing or lubrication if required to level Insert Screw flush in the material. If required, countersink hole to ensure Insert Screw is flush or below surface level of material.
