Tap and die sizing:
Taps and dies are sized with two numbers:
- The first number signifies the screw or bolt diameter
- The second, the number of threads per inch. A 3/4 in (19.05 mm)-10 die will cut 10 threads per inch on stock 3/4 in (19.05 mm) in outside diameter
- Sizes are clearly and permanently marked on each tap and die
