ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS
Advantages of pre-glued dowel pins:
-Feature a heavy coat of glue for better retention strength
-Save time and increase productivity by eliminating periodic maintenance breaks to remove accumulated glue that obstructs dowel pin inserter
-Eliminate dry joints caused by insertion failure due to conduits blocked by glue
-Eliminate clean-up time to remove glue stains during and after assembly
-Water flows smoothly and constantly in glue conduits

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Pre-glued wood dowel tolerances are +/- 0.014" (0.3556mm) for diameter and +/- 0.03125" (0.79375mm) for length.
Note that wood is a natural product that can be affected by its environment despite being dried to a stable 6-8% moisture content.
Pre-glued dowel pins can also be used with glue. This is common practice to glue lateral panels and for applications with minimal depth of joined surfaces.
Pre-glued dowel pins feature a Type III rehydrating APV-based wood glue coating activated by water.
Type III APV-based glue (non water-resistant) contains 50% water and hardens as the water evaporates. Glued sufaces must be held together until they achieve 15% to 20% of their join strength, which usually takes around 1 hour. It may however be necessary to wait 24 hours for the join to achive its full strength.

APPLICATION
Insertion with automatic dowel pin insertion equipment:
1) Clean and drain all glue from equipment and insert nozzle. (Cleaning conduits with hot water is recommended to eliminate all traces of glue.)
2) Replace glue with water and reduce container pressure to 10 to 20 psi to compensate for lower viscocity of water.
3) Load chamber with pre-glued dowel pins and begin work.
Manual insertion:
Pre-glued dowel pins can be inserted using a spray bottle, a standard plastic squeeze bottle, or a pressure pot system.
1) Spray bottle: adjust nozzle to obtain a fine mist. Spray inside hole once or twice and insert dowel pin.
2) Plastic squeeze bottle: Fill hole around 1/3 with water and insert dowel pin.
3) Pressure pot: Reduce pressure to 10 to 20 psi and adjust nozzle to achieve a brief opening time. Fill the hole around 1/3 and insert dowel pin.
