Clip connector for fast installation

Screw-on fasteners are used mostly for clip mounting of moldings onto surfaces. Screw-on fasteners are screwed on and have a dovetail groove cut in the counterpart (the molding), used to then clip the molding onto the surface.

An opposing piece is affixed to the screw-on fasteners by pressing it to the fasteners. The piece can be removed as needed (if no glue was yet applied).

Application examples include invisible ceiling elements, panels on partition walls, coffin windows, paneling of interior doors, etc.

APPLICATION

Screw the connector onto the surface of the bearing part and clip on the grooved workpiece (molding). The application is facilitated by scoring a line, or by pre-drilling. As with Click, cut a groove of at least 63/64 in (25 mm) in length and 17/64 in (6.7 mm) in depth in the molding using a router or CNC machining center with a TCT dovetail cutter with 1/4 in (6.35 mm) or 5/16 in (8 mm) shaft or PCD dovetail cutter with 25/64 in (10 mm) shaft.

Before preparing a continuous groove, you can pre-cut a groove 5/32 in (4 mm) wide and 1/4 in (6.5 mm) deep and then finish with the dovetail cutter. If required, apply LionGrip PU Plus (see Suggested Products) for spot gluing which allows the wood to expand and contract. Choose the quantity and distance of the joints depending on the type and length of the workpieces.
